I have some Freebies for everyone today courtesy of Elise from Sweet Scarlet Designs!

These are some of the cutest printables I have seen and are just perfect for Fathers Day!

Elise has designed these brilliant Candy Bar Wrappers just for Sweet Style Readers.  All you need to create these guys is some of the Aldi Moser Roth Mini Choc Bars that can be found in packs in Aldi Stores Australia wide.  Print off the attached PDF file using a colour printer and then cut the designs out.   Full instructions are included in the download.   Twine has been used as the finishing touch on each chocolate bar.

There are four designs to chose from and there will be a lot of fun deciding which person best suits each design.  Does your loved one wear a tie or maybe he is more the Hawaiian Shirt type.  I can see a few granddads getting the bow tie design and then there are all those dads who spend their time with their tools in the garage!

With Fathers Day less than 2 weeks away I have some fun and simple ideas today to help with your Fathers Day Celebration on Sunday 7th September.

These very cute little Mini Pails can be found as part of the Styling Essentials Kits by Celebrations and Occasions, who put together gorgeous boxes of carefully curated party supplies and styling essentials for your special events!

I had a go at creating three different ideas using these pails.  Use them as a sweet gift for dad or something to serve dessert in!  There are really so many uses for this great piece.

Find them here as part of the Rustic Food Station Kit where you can see all the great items included in the kit (the forks and blackboard signs are part of the kit also).

1. PLANT

A lovely little mini cactus from your local plan shop looks great in these pots – write your guests name on the blackboard and this can be used as a favour or a table setting.sweet style-6679_w

2. DONUTS + COOKIES

Whose Dad doesn’t love donuts and when they come in the form of this cute cookie they are even better!
These fabulous cookies were made by Nicci from Frosted by Nicci and are great as a favour or to eat after your meal!

3. DESSERT

Dessert is always on the menu so why not use these pails to serve it in!  Stamp your cutlery with your favourite words and you have the perfectly styled dessert.
I have made a no bake cheesecake to go in my pot but ice cream or mousse would work perfectly as well!

My big girl Sienna turned 10 last week and we celebrated with a slumber party for just her and her 3 closest friends.  I will share some of those photos in the next few weeks but I just had to share these cute photos I took of her after the girls left.  Part of her birthday present from her friends were the very cute Witchery dungaree’s she is wearing plus the sweet gold triangle motif t-shirt – the glasses she seemed to think were fabulous props added a little bit of extra cuteness!  Happy Birthday gorgeous girl!

I have the sweetest birthday party to share with you today, courtesy of the very talented Nicole from Penny Lane Studio.  You know I love all things simple with a few perfect details and this party is just that!

Nicole decided to celebrate her daughter Lily’s 2nd Birthday with a Cute as a Button 50’s Kitchen Tea Themed Party featuring a pretty soft pastel colour pallet.

Here is what Nicole told me about the party and her inspiration:-

“The styling for Lily’s Party was reminiscent of my childhood raised with 50’s obsessed parents, with genuine ‘Gay ware’ canisters, popcorn and marshmallow sundaes and delicious strawberry milkshakes.

Karyn from Karyn’s gifted creations designed the cutest button cookies and cookie pops, and Gillian from Crumbs of Comfort jumped on board with a simple messy triple layer cake which was dressed with a button and a bow. Grace from Willow and Co’s stunning photography was perfect for the vintage vibe of this sweet little table.”

Apple Berry Pies

Ingredients
  1. 200g plain flour, plus extra for dusting
  2. 2 tsp cinnamon
  3. 140g cold butter, cut into small chunks
  4. 85g light muscovado sugar
  5. 1 egg, separated
  6. 700g Granny Smith apples, cored peeled and cut into 2cm cubes
  7. Juice of 1 lemon
  8. 150g blackberries
  9. 1 tbsp demerara sugar
  10. 40g butter
Instructions
  1. Grease a cupcake pan with butter and heat oven to 180C
  2. Put the flour and cinnamon in a food processor, then add the butter. Process to make fine crumbs. Reserve 2 tbsp of the sugar, then add the remainder and briefly mix. Add the egg yolk and 1 tbsp water, then pulse to make a firm dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and briefly knead. Wrap in cling film and chill for 30 minutes.
  3. To make the filling, peel and core the apples, and cut each into 2cm pieces. Toss immediately with lemon juice in a large bowl, to prevent apples from discolouring. Place the butter and sugar in a large frypan over medium-low heat. When butter has melted, add apples and spices, then stir to coat. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 8 minutes or until apples have slightly softened, add blackberries and cook for a further 2 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  4. Roll out pastry to approx 1cm thickness. Cut rounds to fit cupcake pan. Cut smaller rounds for lids.
  5. Gently press rounds into cupcake pan and spoon in cooled fruit mix ( don't be tempted to spoon in hot fruit as this will affect the baking process of the pastry.) Brush a little water on edge of pastry and place lid on top. Brush with milk and sprinkle with some sugar.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes or until pastry is golden brown.
Notes
  1. You can substitute blackberries with any seasonal berries
