We headed out to watch the ice hockey last weekend. While it would be great to watch a professional game with the Canucks we decided this time around to go and watch our local University team the UBC Thunderbirds in action. Tickets are $5 each whereas pro games are well over $100 each!
We were particularly fascinated by the constant changing of players every time the puck changed ends – I had no idea that you had that many players on a team! The other fascination for me was the names on some of the jersey’s – some of these guys have long names!
Great night at the ice hockey and our team won 4-1!
Go UBC!
How did they fit his name on the shirt?

I have loved photographing all the snow from the past week! We are now forecast for rain to start to wash it all away so I here are a few more pictures from the week that was all about the white stuff!

Every week we go walking with a group from Sienna’s school. Somewhere different every week which means we are discovering the Vancouver on foot! Our walk this week was in the Pacific Spirit Park on the University Campus. With all the snow we have had in the last week the walk today was amazing! Snow boots were a must, plus many layers, thick coats and gloves!

The snow continues to make life in Vancouver interesting! I took a walk today down to Kitslano beach and it has a good 20cm layer covering it! I even saw a lady cross country skiing across it! So funny.
The pool has frozen over – great for the ducks! It still looks beautiful though. There have been some fun additions to the local tennis courts as well – not great if you are a tennis coach however!
More snow predicted for today but with a warm front coming in they are saying that is will be ice/rain – supposed to be nasty stuff!
Frozen!Tricky going uphill in the car!
